He made his debut as Machiavelli in the world premiere of the opera “Der Jude von Malta” at the Munich Biennale (BR recording). Numerous first and world premieres followed: at the Berlin State Opera, at the Schwetzingen SWR Festival, at the Basel Theater and at the Theater an der Wien. At the Frankfurt Opera he sang the role of the Herald in the German premiere of Aribert Reimann's “Medea”. In 2017/18 he performed at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the world premiere of Aribert Reimann’s opera "L’Invisible". In 2018/19 Tim Severloh sang the role of Camille in the world premiere of the opera “Thérèse” in a co-production of the Hamburg State Opera and the Salzburg Easter Festival.

The countertenor Tim Severloh was born in Hamburg, where he initially studied piano and musicology. He then shifted his musical focus to singing and studied voice at the Berlin University of the Arts with Harald Stamm and Ingrid Figur. In addition, he attended master classes with Paul Esswood and René Jacobs and took part in Axel Bauni's class ‘Song of the 20th Century’.

A CD with the NDR Symphony Orchestra under Christoph Eschenbach was released on the WERGO label on the occasion of Aribert Reimann's 80th birthday, on which Tim Severloh can be heard with the Reimann cycle “Eingedunkelt”. He had previously sung this song cycle as part of the Ars Musica festival of the Société Philharmonique de Bruxelles. Especially for Tim Severloh, Aribert Reimann composed the song cycle “Zeitgehöft” based on poems by P. Celan, which was premiered in Munich

Concerts with Tim Severloh on the occasion of Aribert Reimann's 70th birthday at the BR Radio Station and on Hans-Werner Henze's 80th birthday as part of the celebrations of the Bavarian State Opera should be mentioned as further highlights. On these two occasions he sang the world premieres of the works “Lamento and Dithyrambus” and “Kafka Cycle” for countertenor and cello by H. J. v. Bose, which were composed especially for Tim Severloh.

Tim Severloh repeatedly makes side-trips into the field of early music. At the WDR Festival ‘Tage Alter Musik’ in Herne he was heard as Liscone in the concert performance of the opera “La Dirindina” by D. Scarlatti. At the Rheingau Music Festival and at the Herrenchiemsee Festival, he made his debut in the role of Vargans in concert performances of Vivaldi's opera “Juditha triumphans” under Enoch zu Guttenberg. He was hired by the NDR radio station to sing the role of young Purcell as part of the radio play production “Purcell's Dream of King Arthur”. With the Dresden Philharmonic he sang the alto solo in J.S. Bach's Magnificat under Christoph Eschenbach. At the Schwetzingen SWR Festival he could be heard not only with works by A. Reimann but also with compositions by F. Couperin.
